Shame on me. I’d been meaning to post this brief riff on the baked doughnuts recipe for ages now, but holiday got in the way. Then work, then more work. But fear not, it’s here now.
A few weeks ago, I posted a recipe for caramelised white chocolate glaze doughnuts. Inevitably, I had to make them again a few days later, but had much less time to make a glaze. So, if you ever find yourself in a similar pickle, I’m just here to reassure you that these baked doughnuts are just as good with a simple chocolate ganache glaze.
For the ganache, you’ll need:
150ml double cream
200g dark chocolate, chopped into pieces
Put double cream in a medium saucepan and bring to a near boil.
Place chopped chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
Pour double cream over the chopped chocolate and whisk until chocolate has melted and mixture looks smooth and silky.
Allow to cool slightly before dipping doughnuts face down to glaze.
